Eagle Claw Kung Fu training at Shadow Fist

Advanced Weapon Form

Day Tong Seung DoRolling Ground Double Saber

An advanced weapon form in the Eagle Claw system. Day Tong Seung Do, the Rolling Ground Double Saber, trains fighting from the ground with a saber in each hand: rolling, rising, and cutting from low positions.

About the form

The Day Tong Seung Do, also called the Groundrolling Double Saber or Ground Double Broadswords, is a form in Northern Shaolin Eagle Claw Kung Fu that teaches ground-based combat, acrobatics, and close-quarters weapon handling. It is also listed in the curriculum as the Five Guardian Saber. The set is trained with a broadsword in each hand and includes ground-level work: dropping, rolling, and rising back to the feet without losing control of either blade, which makes it one of the most demanding sets for coordination, spatial awareness, and body control.

At Shadow Fist, Day Tong Seung Do is taught step by step in class under your instructor’s guidance, then refined at home with the training video below. Because both hands are occupied, the form exposes any weakness in stance and balance quickly, so the footwork and rolling mechanics are drilled before speed is added.

Seamless transitions from standing postures directly into low-level rolling movements on the ground, with both blades still live.

Low sweeps and leg splits

Evasive maneuvering and low-profile attacking angles that work under an opponent’s guard.

Synchronized double blade control

High-speed rotations, body-twirling flourishes, and strikes using twin broadswords, with both hands working together.

Acrobatic and agility drills

Dynamic jumps, airborne transitions, and quick recovery movements from floor-level positions.
